PANASONIC announces that their first portable (DCC) player, the RQ-DP7, will be available this August. The playback only unit features analog cassette compatibility, built-in, rechargeable battery, a scrolling LCD readout allowing for information in excess of 12 characters to be read, a 3-key remote built into the headphone wire, and an optical, digital output for connection to other units. $549.
