TASCAM has introduced the IF-E100 Ethernet Control Card for the company's CD-400U media player. The optional card installs in the CD-400U expansion port, enabling remote configuration and control over an IP network from TASCAM's free, downloadable CD-400U Network Settings application for Mac and Windows.

TASCAM IF E100 400pxIdeal for a variety of installations, the TASCAM CD-400U offers playback from a wide range of media, including audio and data CDs, USB memory devices, and SD and SDHC cards. Audio file formats include WAV, MP3, AAC and WMA, with support for high bit rates. The CD-400U also integrates an AM/FM tuner and enables recording from the CD or AM/FM source to SD or USB media. Playback modes (continuous playback, single playback and random playback) can also be combined with repeat playback function settings (on/off), as well as Incremental Play, to suit a wide range of situations. A Panel Lock function disables the panel buttons, and an automatic playback function starts playback upon power up. Professional audio connections include XLR balanced outputs, RCA unbalanced main outputs, a second set of RCA outputs dedicated to AM/FM audio, an 1/8" auxiliary input, and a stereo headphone output.

The CD-400U comes standard with remote control via RS-232C. But with the addition of the optional IF-E100 Ethernet Control Card, the media player is a superior option for a wide variety of IP network-based installations in schools and other institutions, restaurants, hotels, retail facilities, and much more.

The IF-E100 Ethernet Control Card is available from TASCAM partner integrators, contractors, and pro audio dealers at an expected MAP price of $59.99. For more information please visit www.tascam.com.
