► The CBI Board of Directors has released entry information for the 15th annual Student Production Awards. Entry information is available online, and submissions are now open. Submissions will close on Friday, May 13. Awards will be presented as part of the fifth annual National Student Electronic Media Convention, to be held Oct. 20 – 22, 2016 at the Philadelphia Sonesta. The National Student Production Awards honor outstanding student work in electronic media, and include more than 20 submission categories — including promos, news reporting, best DJ, comedy, entertainment, many sports categories and more for video and audio — as well as general categories in station imaging, website design and Social Media Presence. “The awards provide a great opportunity for students to showcase their work in a nationally recognized competition,” said Awards Coordinator Steven Hames. “With multiple categories in audio, video and multimedia, there is something for every type of station out there — radio, television, online or a combination.” www.askcbi.org.
► TM Studios and Atomica Music have partnered to make its production music library available for the first time to radio. The library has only been available previously for network TV, film and national agencies. TM Studios VP Creative/GM Greg Clancy said: “What attracted us to Atomica is that it combines the artistry and excellence of ‘agency-grade libraries, yet it functions perfectly for the day-to-day application of production directors and imagers. It’s massive, but it’s fresh… nothing in the library is older than 2010. The content is easy to search and applications are user-friendly. And, the guys at Atomica are updating constantly.” Added Atomica COO Scott Meath: “Atomica could not be more excited about working with TM Studios. It was important for us to work with an organization that puts the same passion into serving the radio industry as we put into our music catalog. We look forward to helping stations take their productions to the next level.” Atomica contains more than 30,000 tracks, and the library is updated regularly, with nearly 1,000 tracks added each year. www.atomicamusiclibrary.com. www.tmstudios.com. ►
