For the first time since its inception 11 years ago, GameSoundCon, the largest professional conference for video game music and sound design, will be held in a virtual format from October 5-7, 2020. This is exciting news for all game audio professionals, music producers, composers, sound designers who have always wanted to attend this great networking event but couldn’t make their way to Los Angeles, where the conference is traditionally held.

GameSoundCon2020This year, attendees will be able to access the full conference program online for a nominal fee of $25. In prior years, the lowest ticket price to attend this prestigious, always sold-out conference was $449, and attendees from all over the world would travel to Los Angeles’ historic Biltmore Hotel for two days.

This year’s conference is a chance to get access to cutting edge content from the comfort of your home for just $25. In the spirit of these challenging times, GameSoundCon will donate 80% of registration fees to Education Through Music-Los Angeles to support in-school music education among disadvantaged Los Angeles communities.

Conference Founder and Executive Director, Brian Schmidt says “If you have been to GameSoundCon in the past, this virtual format will feel familiar with only a couple of changes. There will be concurrent live streams both for those new to games as well as seasoned game audio professionals, covering topics like game music composition, game sound design, business/career, and game audio research.”

The virtual conference will be held over three days, with the first day being dedicated to tutorials like Game Audio 101 and Introduction to Interactive Composition.  The following two days will offer sessions, panels and masterclasses.

For game audio pros, this is a fantastic opportunity to enhance their game audio skills, hear thought-leaders in the field, and keep current on trends and technologies.
