Another shortage of submissions for the Soundstage this month, but once again, we received some excellent work to present. The Soundstage for the next 3 months will feature RAP Awards entries beginning with the Finalists in March, followed by the Best of the Rest in April and May. That gives you plenty of time to hunt down a contribution for the June Soundstage! J
Up first is this month’s Editor’s Choice Award winner, a tribute to David Bowie from Adam Venton at UKRD. Adam not only did an excellent job on the content and production, but his turnaround time was pretty impressive as well. Adam notes: “Following the sad news of David Bowie’s passing this month, I came into the office nice and early and made this tribute piece, which went to air on all 22 of our stations before 9am. I was very satisfied with the quick turnaround, as well as the audio. I tried to show Bowie at his charismatic best, using interview clips of his wicked sense of humour and charm, and quirkiness.” Mission accomplished, Adam!
Track 2 is one of the spots Dennis Daniel talks about in his Commercial Chronicles column on page 10. More spots on tracks 3 through 8, including another impressive spot from a SAIT student on track 4! A couple of promos on the next two tracks and we wrap it up with a rockin’ intro for a show called “Roots of Rock”. I like Alex’s use of reverb on this one!

Help support the RAP Soundstage by sending some audio you’ve recently produced at your studios. Please include your e-mail address for anyone interested in finding out details about the work. Promos, commercials, sweepers/IDs, bits, spoof spots, song parodies, and most any other good piece of production are welcome.
